Milonga Night
Tango enthusiasts and professional dancers gather night after night in the various milongas of Buenos Aires. A “milonga” is the name of the place where local people and dancers from around the world come together to enjoy this dance on a dance floor. There are elegant milongas, others more informal and with a modern spirit. We can have dinner in you can have dinner o a drink while enjoying the movement and steps that unfold on the dance floor.
We will visit an authentic milonga in Buenos Aires that I choose according to the preferences of each guest. We will have a table reserved for us where we can enjoy a glass of wine while we experience the development of the local tango scene with its unwritten codes that make tango such a unique and unrepeatable expression.
Depending on the day of the week and the selected milonga, we may enjoy a show by professional dancers or a tango orchestra playing live music while couples dance around us.
The Bohemia of Tango
In addition to the milongas, there are many tango bars in Buenos Aires, where the most bohemian side of the tango world is experienced. There, famous musicians mix with the best of street tango art to offer their music to those who are present. Historic bars in the city with endearing stories and anecdotes in every corner. They are located in various magical parts of the city where you can feel the soul of a local tango night in its full expression.
We can enjoy a glass of wine and empanadas while sharing the evening with other local people. As several bars are located in the same neighborhood, we can visit two in the same night.
Tango Show
Tango shows in the “Broadway” style are a tradition of Argentine tours. However, there is a wide variety of these spectacles, and they do not always meet expectations. That’s why, for those who want to enjoy a professionally produced show, featuring a selection of internationally renowned dancers and musicians, I propose accompanying them to one of my favorite shows in the city and sharing behind-the-scenes insights into what is presented on stage.
Depending on the season, I choose the best option considering the cast on stage at that time, the location, and the style of the show.
In addition to the show, the experience includes a 3-course dinner and drinks.
After the show, we might have the chance to chat and share a moment with the artists.
Tango Afternoon
For those who prefer an earlier tango experience, we can share an afternoon immersed in the history and origins of tango by visiting the neighborhood of Abasto. Abasto is known as the heart of tango in Buenos Aires. We will enjoy the atmosphere of the historic cafes and special spots of Buenos Aires, where tango has been celebrated for generations. With a cup of coffee or a glass of Malbec, we will discuss the intricacies of tango in the city.
Depending on the time of day and availability, we may even have the opportunity to witness a private rehearsal of tango musicians.
Tango Lessons
For those who want to adventure into the rhythm of 2×4, any of the options presented can start with a personalized tango lesson. In a dance hall specially prepared for dancing, you can learn the intricacies of this dance born on the shores of our city. An approach to experiencing firsthand those details that make tango so special: the connection with a partner through the embrace, the music, and the rhythm of the steps.
No prior dance experience or predisposition to dance is necessary to learn how to dance tango. Because tango is a dance, but it is also something else; many other things.
Tango, above all, is walked.
And it is breathed.
Anyone can learn to dance tango. And at any time.
